A Family Business
Every business we own and everything we do is done by family and for family. David and I, Pamela, own the business, my sister, Shauna Patton, works the front desk on Thursdays, has space within the store for herself and she and I own the estate sale business, Those Three Sisters Estate Sale Services LLC, that operates from the antique mall. A total of two husbands, two sisters, five children, their five spouses and eight grandchildren.....all live within walking distance of each other. Three of the families live in large loft apartments on the third floor above the antique mall. When it's time for vacation, whether Disney World, Europe or a cruise, we enjoy sharing that together, too!
Our antique mall opened in a rented building in downtown Hillsboro in 1988 and we moved to our current location when we purchased our buildings in 1990. The antique mall building, built in 1910 and used originally by Bond Hardware, was a J. C. Penney's catalogue store before we began the renovations. The original hardware store sign, staircase, mezzanine and pressed tin ceilings are in the mall today. Photos of the renovations on our buildings will soon be seen under the navigation bar "Our Buildings".
The space within the antique mall is used for our personal merchandise, our dealers' merchandise and consignment pieces. It's a big job keeping up with all the new items coming in the door while sold items are being loaded into our customers' cars, trucks and trailers. Things are on the sidewalk, in the aisles and sometimes, literally hanging from the rafters. If you enjoy family, Texas friendliness and a great mix of antiques and collectibles in an historic small town county seat, we'll see you soon.
